1Chinese Android keeps local progress private
Learning history stays in app-private storage, without a developer account, ad SDKs or analytics. Android backup and device transfer are disabled for this data.
Cloud AI only when you use it
Text, conversation context or recordings needed for an AI feature pass through our service to OpenAI or ElevenLabs. Technical wallet and purchase records let the service provide credits without a user account.
Clear data choices
Microphone access is optional. Uninstalling or clearing app data removes local progress and wallet credentials; subscription restoration does not recover learning history or purchased and welcome credits.

Mini exams help you check progress. Gold adds five full mock exams per level, with timed written sections and a speaking part for HSK 3–4.

These are original materials, not official HSK papers. Scores are unofficial estimates; 1Chinese is independent of exam organizers and does not guarantee a pass or issue certificates.
Talk Chinese with the 1Chinese AI tutor
Practise everyday situations by typing or recording a spoken turn. Get corrections and explanations, then save useful practice from the conversation.
Text and recorded voice
Use Chinese at your level, listen to spoken replies and review your conversation. These are recorded turns, not live calls. AI requires an internet connection and credits.
Listen and repeat
Speech recognition checks the words you said. Compare your tones with the model yourself: this feature does not score pronunciation. Bundled Mandarin voices are AI-generated.

What can I use for free?
The free version includes daily lessons, a new-word deck and practice sets within limits, one mini exam, unlimited due reviews and mistake practice, and one-time welcome AI credits. Gold removes local practice limits, unlocks full mocks and includes recurring AI credits.
Does 1Chinese work offline?
Lessons, vocabulary, local practice and bundled Mandarin audio work offline. AI conversations, AI answer checks, speaking assessment and speech recognition need internet access and AI credits. Purchases and restoration also need Google Play connectivity.
Are these official HSK papers?
No. These are original practice materials. 1Chinese is independent of HSK organizers; scores are unofficial estimates, not certificates or promises of passing.
Does it score tones or pronunciation?
No. Repeat after me checks recognized words. You listen to the model and compare your own tones. The bundled Mandarin voices are AI-generated.
Do I need an account?
No. Learning history stays in app-private storage. AI requests pass through the 1Chinese service to AI providers. Removing the app or clearing its data removes local progress; restoring a subscription does not restore learning history or purchased and welcome credits.
