Is 1Scanner free?
Yes. Everything in 1Scanner works for free, with 10 scanned pages a day. Your first scan starts right after the welcome pages, with no Premium screen first. After that, a short reminder you can close appears before every third eligible action, such as starting a scan or creating a new document with a tool. Premium ($0.99 a week, $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year) removes the daily limit and the reminders. There are no ads or forced app watermarks; your own optional watermark is free too. Sharing, exporting and printing are never locked.
What counts toward the 10 free pages a day?
Camera pages and photos turned into pages count when saved. Each saved business card counts as one page and each captured book spread as two. Imported PDFs, sharing, printing, signing and QR scanning do not count. The limit is checked when a scan starts, so a scan you've started always finishes, even past 10 pages. The count starts again the next day.
Does 1Scanner upload my documents?
No. Scanning, text recognition and code reading happen on your iPhone or iPad, and 1Scanner has no server to upload to. It has no account and no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs; it talks only to Apple, for purchases. Your documents stay in the app unless you choose to share them or save PDF copies to a folder. Its App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.
Can I add my signature and company stamp to a PDF?
Yes. Save your signature, initials or company seal once: scan it on white paper, pick a photo or a file, or draw it. 1Scanner removes the paper and keeps the ink's color. Then place it on any page, move, resize and turn it, or add it to all pages, including PDFs from Mail or Files. Signatures and stamps are kept only on your device. 1Scanner places images of your own signature and stamp, like any PDF editor; it is not a certified e-signature service.
How do I make a smaller PDF?
PDF and JPEG export offers Original, Medium and Small, with measured file sizes; plain-text export is separate. For an imported PDF, use Compress to create a smaller copy. Results depend on the pages. The receipt in this page’s screenshot measures 167 kB, 119 kB and 51 kB respectively; these are example sizes, not promised results for your document.
Is it safe to scan QR codes with 1Scanner?
1Scanner never opens a link by itself. It shows the full address with the real domain highlighted and warns about lookalike characters, bare IP addresses, plain http, link shorteners and brand names hidden in subdomains. Links open in Safari, so Safari's own fraudulent-website warning still applies. No app can catch every scam, so check the domain before you open a link.
Can I scan an ID card?
Yes. ID card mode scans the front, then the back, and fits both sides on one page at standard ID-1 card size (85.6 × 54 mm). Larger paper IDs are scaled to that size; check the recipient’s requirements.
Does 1Scanner work offline?
Yes. Scanning, text recognition, search, signatures and stamps, the PDF tools and QR code reading all work without an internet connection. Purchases, restoring Premium, opening web links and sharing through online services need a connection. Optional on-device AI needs its compatible model downloaded and available first.
What happens to my documents if I delete the app?
Your library lives inside 1Scanner and can be included in device backups according to your system settings; deleting the app deletes the library on the device. To keep PDFs outside the app, turn on Save PDF copies to a folder in Settings › Backup (off by default): one-way copies are written while the app is open and stay when you delete a document or the app. This is not library sync and does not include business cards. Export all documents writes every PDF to a folder once. Documents you delete inside 1Scanner wait in Recently Deleted for 30 days.
Does 1Scanner work on iPad?
Yes. 1Scanner works on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.
Which languages does 1Scanner support?
The interface supports 45 languages, including English and Spanish, with Arabic, Hebrew and Urdu right to left. Switch it in the app’s Settings. OCR uses a separate list supplied by your device; interface translation does not imply text-recognition support.
