1Cleaner for Mac Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026 · 1Cleaner for Mac
The short version: 1Cleaner works on your Mac. We do not collect, sell or share your personal data. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, no account and no server that receives anything about your files. The app goes online only when you click Check for Updates or Install and Relaunch.
This page covers 1Cleaner for Mac and is complete on its own. The principles shared by every app of the line are in the 1Buck Apps Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
1Cleaner is developed by Antosha (Anton Trantin, a private individual and independent developer, publishing as Antosha Apps; "we", "us"), as part of 1Buck Apps. Contact: [email protected].
2. Data we collect
We do not collect personal data. 1Cleaner does not transmit information about you, your files or your usage to us or to any analytics, attribution or advertising provider, and it has no account. 1Cleaner is free: there are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
3. What 1Cleaner uses on your Mac and why
Everything below is processed locally on your Mac.
- Files and folders in your home folder — to find what can be cleaned, 1Cleaner reads the names, sizes, dates and locations of files and folders, for example project build folders, developer caches, app caches, logs, installers, downloads, temporary files, large files and device backups. It checks for files that identify a project's tools (such as
package.jsonnext tonode_modules). Nothing is changed until you select items and confirm. - Desktop, Documents and Downloads — macOS asks for your permission the first time 1Cleaner looks in these folders, for build folders, installers and large files. You can refuse; the rest of the app keeps working. You can change this later in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Files and Folders.
- Full Disk Access (optional) — lets 1Cleaner measure the Trash, the Safari cache, Mail data and other protected caches. 1Cleaner works without it. You grant or revoke it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Full Disk Access.
- Automation of Finder — used only to empty the Trash when you choose Empty Trash. macOS asks for this permission the first time.
- Docker and Xcode tools — to list and remove Docker data and Xcode simulators, 1Cleaner runs Docker's and Xcode's own command-line tools on your Mac. They remove items only after you confirm a separate warning.
- Removing files — selected files are moved to the macOS Trash after a confirmation, so you can restore them until you empty the Trash. Docker data and simulators removed by their own tools do not go to the Trash.
- Move to Another Disk — when you use it, 1Cleaner copies the item to the external drive you choose, checks the copy and then moves the original to the Trash.
Data stored by the app — your settings, scan folders, Safe List and usage statistics (such as the space cleaned and the time of the last scan) are kept in the app's preferences on your Mac (~/Library/Preferences/app.antosha.onecleaner.mac.plist). They are never uploaded. Deleting that file removes them.
4. Network use
- Check for Updates — only when you click it, 1Cleaner requests
https://onebuckapps.com/1cleaner-mac/version.jsonto see whether a newer version exists. The app adds no identifiers and nothing about your Mac or files. As with any website visit, your IP address, the time and standard technical request data reach Cloudflare, our network provider, and our web server. Web server and network logs can contain the IP address, time and requested path and are kept for a limited time. - Install and Relaunch — only when you click it after Check for Updates found a newer version, 1Cleaner downloads that version's disk image from
https://onebuckapps.com/downloads/, checks it on your Mac, installs it in place of the current copy (which goes to the Trash) and restarts. The request carries the same technical data as above and nothing about your Mac or files. - Links you open — links in the app (for example this policy, support or our social channels) open in your browser only when you click them. The websites you visit handle data under their own policies.
- Ask AI — copies a ready question about an item or a list to your clipboard. The question can include names and paths of those items. 1Cleaner sends nothing; if you paste it into an AI assistant, that assistant's own privacy policy applies.
- Apple — 1Cleaner is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. macOS may check the app with Apple when you open it; this is handled by macOS, not by 1Cleaner. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Donations, support and children
- Donations are voluntary. They are blockchain transfers that you make yourself in your own crypto wallet to the addresses shown in the app or on our support page. 1Cleaner never sees them and does not connect to any wallet. Blockchain transfers are public by design.
- Support emails: if you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to answer you. We do not add you to marketing lists.
- Children: 1Cleaner is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
6. Your choices
You can change or revoke Files and Folders, Full Disk Access and Automation permissions at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security. To remove 1Cleaner, drag it from Applications to the Trash and delete its preferences file named above.
7. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above; material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Questions? Write to [email protected].
