1Scanner for iPhone & iPad Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026 · 1Scanner for iPhone and iPad
The short version: Your scans stay on your iPhone or iPad unless you choose to share them or turn on PDF copies to a folder. We do not collect, sell or share your personal data. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, no account and no server.
This page covers 1Scanner for iPhone and iPad and is complete on its own. The Android version has its own policy. The principles shared by every app of the line are in the 1Buck Apps Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
1Scanner is developed by Antosha (Anton Trantin, a private individual and independent developer, publishing as Antosha Apps; "we", "us"), as part of 1Buck Apps. Contact: [email protected].
2. Data we collect
We do not collect personal data. 1Scanner does not transmit information about you or your usage to us or to any analytics, attribution or advertising provider, and has no account.
3. What 1Scanner uses on your device and why
Everything below happens on your iPhone or iPad. 1Scanner has no server and no network code of its own: it talks only to Apple (for purchases) and hands links you tap to Safari.
- Camera — to scan documents, ID cards, passport photo pages, book spreads, business cards, QR codes and barcodes. Camera frames are analyzed on your device to find the page or the code; only the photos you capture are kept, in the app's library.
- Photos — photos you pick for Photos to PDF or for a signature or stamp are chosen in the system picker, so 1Scanner has no access to the rest of your library. Saving a code or a page to Photos uses add-only access, which you grant when you first save.
- Files — PDFs and images you import from Files or open in 1Scanner from another app are copied into the app's library. If you turn on Save PDF copies to a folder, 1Scanner remembers the folder you picked (on your device) and writes one-way PDF copies of documents you save or change while the app is open. This is not library sync and does not include business cards; files in that folder are yours and are kept by that folder's provider (for example iCloud Drive) under its own policy, even after you delete the app. Export all documents writes PDFs to a folder you pick once.
- Text recognition — the text of your pages is recognized on your device with Apple's Vision framework and stored with your documents for search, Copy Text and searchable PDFs.
- Signatures and stamps — the images you save for Signatures & Stamps are kept only in the app and drawn onto pages you choose when you share them.
- QR codes and barcodes — codes are read on your device. Links never open by themselves; the safety checks on a link run on your device, and a link opens in Safari only when you tap it. When you tap a lookup for a product code (web search, Open Food Facts, Open Library), Safari sends that code to the site you chose. QR history is kept on your device; you can turn it off or clear it in Settings.
- Wi-Fi, contacts and events from codes — joining a Wi-Fi network goes through the iOS prompt; contacts and events are added through the system's own screens, so 1Scanner never reads your contacts or calendars.
- Watermark — the recipient, purpose and date you enter are drawn into the PDF or JPEG copy you export. Your original document stays unchanged. After a completed share, the last five recipient values are kept on your device as suggestions; clear them in Settings › Sharing › Clear Watermark Suggestions.
- Hide Data — areas you mark are removed from the page images and recognized text of a new redacted copy. The original stays in your library. Choose the redacted copy when sharing.
- Business cards — card images and fields such as names, companies, phone numbers and email addresses are read and stored on your device. Review and edit the fields, then choose whether to export vCard/CSV or open the system Add to Contacts screen. 1Scanner does not read your address book. Business cards are not included in the optional folder of PDF document copies.
- Document names and summaries — titles can be derived from recognized document text on your device. On compatible devices with the required Apple Intelligence model, summaries and improvements to recognized business-card identity fields use Apple's on-device model, not an external AI service. Summaries are not saved automatically; if you copy or share one, you choose its destination.
- Face ID, Touch ID or passcode — to unlock the app when you turn on App Lock. Biometric data is handled by iOS and never available to the app.
Data stored by the app — your documents (the captured photos, pages and imported PDFs), their recognized text, business-card images and fields, signatures and stamps, recent watermark-recipient suggestions, QR history and settings are stored in the app's private storage, protected by iOS Data Protection, and never uploaded by 1Scanner. iOS device backups include them according to your system settings. Files you share contain your pages and, for PDFs, their title and "1Scanner" as the creating app; location and camera metadata are removed. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device, except copies you saved to Files, Photos or a folder for PDF copies.
4. Purchases, support and children
- Purchases are processed by Apple and verified on your device with StoreKit; we never receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Support emails: if you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to answer you. We do not add you to marketing lists.
- Children: 1Scanner is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
5. Your choices
You can change or revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings. Deleting the app removes its data from your device, except as described above.
6. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above; material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Questions? Write to [email protected].
