1Scanner for Android Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026 · Package app.antosha.onescanner.android
The short version: 1Scanner processes documents on your phone and has no account, advertisements or document-upload server. Google’s scanning and text-recognition SDKs collect technical diagnostics and usage information. Files leave the app when you choose to share, export, back up through a supported system transfer, or use another service.
This policy covers only 1Scanner for Android. The iPhone and iPad version has a separate privacy policy.
1. Who develops 1Scanner for Android
1Scanner is developed by Antosha (Anton Trantin, an independent developer publishing as Antosha Apps), as part of 1Buck Apps. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
2. Documents and information stored on Android
Your scanned pages, imported PDFs and images, recognized text, document titles and folders, signatures, stamps, QR history and settings are stored in the app’s private storage. Scanning, text recognition, code reading and PDF processing run on-device. We do not operate a server that receives this content, and you do not create a 1Scanner account.
When you share a file, save it outside the app, print it or open a link, the app or service you choose receives the information needed for that action and applies its own privacy policy.
3. Google SDKs and technical information
The Android app uses Google ML Kit for document scanning, text recognition and code reading, and Google Play services for the camera scanning screens. Initial scanner setup may download components from Google.
According to Google’s ML Kit data-disclosure documentation, these SDKs collect device and app information, installation identifiers, performance measurements, configuration and input/output sizes, feature events and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics. Some Play-services features also use a device identifier. This technical collection is separate from the on-device processing of document content.
Google states that the listed ML Kit data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and is not transferred to third parties by ML Kit. See Google’s Privacy Policy for Google’s handling of information. 1Scanner does not provide an in-app switch to disable ML Kit’s SDK diagnostics. We do not add advertising, attribution or developer analytics SDKs of our own.
4. Android access and permissions
- Camera scanning: Google’s scanner screens use camera access handled by Google Play services; 1Scanner does not request its own camera permission.
- Photos and files: Android’s pickers let you choose individual images and documents. Imported files are copied into the library. The app does not request access to all files or your whole photo library.
- PDF copies: if you enable copies to a folder, Android grants access to the folder you select. Copies outside the app can remain after uninstalling and are subject to the selected storage provider’s behavior and policy.
- QR actions: code history stays in the app. Opening a URL or looking up a product sends the URL or code to your chosen browser and destination. Joining Wi-Fi, adding a contact or creating an event uses Android’s system flows; the app does not read your contacts or calendar.
- App Lock: Android handles fingerprint, face and device-credential authentication. 1Scanner receives the authentication result, not your biometric templates or device password.
5. Android backups, retention and deletion
Documents, signatures, stamps and QR history are excluded from Google cloud backup. They can be included in Android device-to-device transfer when moving to a new phone. App settings may be included in system backup.
Documents deleted inside 1Scanner remain in Recently Deleted for 30 days unless you permanently delete them sooner. You can clear or disable QR history in Settings. Uninstalling normally removes private app data unless you choose Android’s Keep app data option. Files you exported, shared or saved in another folder remain outside the app; delete those copies through their destination app or storage provider.
For technical data collected by Google SDKs, Google controls retention under its policies; deleting local 1Scanner data does not by itself delete information already handled by Google.
6. Google Play purchases
Optional Premium purchases are processed by Google Play. The app uses purchase status and transaction information locally to verify Premium access. We do not receive your payment-card details and do not run a purchase-verification server. Google handles payments under its own privacy policy.
7. Support and children
If you email support, we receive your email address and the contents and attachments you send. We use them to respond to your request, not to add you to marketing lists. Please do not send confidential documents unless they are necessary for your question.
1Scanner is a general document utility, not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us so we can address the request.
8. Your choices and policy changes
You choose which documents to import and where to share or export them. You can manage folder access and app data in Android Settings, disable optional PDF copies and QR history, and manage subscriptions in Google Play.
We will update the date on this page when this policy changes. Questions or privacy requests: [email protected].
