1Polish Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026 · 1Polish for iPhone and iPad
Your learning history stays on your device. AI uses online services. 1Polish has no ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs and no user account. Lessons, practice, exams and the built-in audio work on the device. When you use an AI feature, the text, learning context or voice recording needed for it passes through our server to the AI provider that answers you. Our server does not save that content in its database; it keeps only an encrypted retry copy of the AI result for up to 15 minutes (section 4).
This policy covers 1Polish, the Polish B1 exam tutor for iPhone and iPad, including its optional AI and purchase services. It is complete on its own; 1Polish for Android has its own policy, and the 1Buck Apps Privacy Policy describes the principles shared by every app of the line.
1. Who is responsible for 1Polish data
1Polish is developed by Anton Trantin, an independent developer publishing as Antosha Apps under the 1Buck Apps brand ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the processing described here. Contact us about privacy or support at [email protected].
2. 1Polish learning data on your iPhone or iPad
Your profile and learning preferences, study plan, level-test results, practice answers, exam results, progress, mistake journal, conversation reviews and the history of your AI checks are stored only on your device. Generated tutor audio may be cached on the device for playback. We do not upload your learning history to our server, and 1Polish does not use iCloud sync.
Like other app data, this data can be part of your own device backup (iCloud or computer) according to your iOS settings; we have no access to those backups. Deleting the app removes its learning data from the device. The random install identifier and session key of your AI credit wallet are kept in the iOS Keychain for this device only; iOS may keep them after the app is deleted. There is no 1Polish account, so we cannot restore your learning history.
The Polish audio built into the app (listening tasks and words) was produced in advance with AI voices and plays from the device. Listening to it sends nothing to anyone.
3. What 1Polish AI features send
AI is an optional online part of 1Polish. You can continue using local practice without it. Every new installation gets a one-time amount of free AI credits; after that, AI uses the credits included in an active 1Polish AI subscription. Every AI request goes from the app to our server at api-1polish.onebuckapps.com, and our server forwards it to the provider using our own access keys; the app contains no provider keys and never contacts a provider directly.
- Text tutoring and assessment: we send the text you submit and the context needed for the task, such as recent conversation turns, your selected topic, learner language, task instructions, answers or mistakes, through our server to OpenAI. The response provides tutoring, feedback or grading.
- Spoken answers: when you choose to record and submit an answer, your recording goes through our server to ElevenLabs for transcription. Its transcript may then be sent to OpenAI with the task context for a reply or assessment. The app keeps a recording on your device only until it has been transcribed or you discard it.
- Tutor speech: text for generated tutor replies is sent through our server to ElevenLabs to create audio. This can include text derived from your conversation. We do not use your recording to create a clone of your voice.
These are recorded voice turns, not live calls. Bundled listening lessons and vocabulary recordings do not send your voice to an AI provider. Please avoid including sensitive personal details or information about other people in a learning prompt or recording.
We use AI content to provide the feature you request. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. The providers also process data under their own applicable terms and privacy controls. See OpenAI's privacy policy and API data controls, and ElevenLabs' privacy policy. Provider retention can extend beyond our temporary result cache; this app does not promise zero retention by every provider.
4. What the 1Polish server keeps
No user sign-up is required, but online services use technical identifiers to authenticate an installation and maintain its AI credit wallet:
- Install identifier and wallet: on first use, the app creates a random install identifier and keeps it in the iOS Keychain on this device only. It is not the advertising identifier and is not shared with other apps. Our server keeps only a one-way hash of it in its session records, together with an encrypted session key, your credit balance, the dates of your plan period and a one-way hash marking that this device already received its free welcome credits, so they are given only once.
- Per AI request: the request id and the provider's own request id, a one-way hash of the request, the operation type, the model and provider, usage quantities, cost, credits charged, status and time. These records deliver results, prevent duplicate charges and repeated welcome credits, protect the service from abuse and reconcile purchases.
- Retry cache: completed AI responses, including submitted answer text, transcripts, generated feedback or audio, are encrypted in a temporary retry cache that expires after 15 minutes, so an interrupted request can recover its result without a second charge. Cache expiry does not establish the deletion time of every infrastructure backup or provider-held copy.
- Logs: our application's error log records error codes and technical event names, not the content of your texts or recordings. Rate-limit identifiers use hashes; hashing does not make every technical record anonymous. Network connections also expose your IP address and connection information to our hosting and network-security services, including Cloudflare; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The accounting database does not store your prompts, recordings or AI response content. Each request also carries technical headers (app version, device model and system language) that our server does not store in its database. These records are associated with your installation's credit wallet, not with a name or e-mail address. They are pseudonymous technical records, not advertising or behavioral-analytics profiles, and we do not use them for tracking.
Deleting the app does not delete server-side wallet, accounting or security records. Such records are retained for service operation, purchase verification, fraud prevention, dispute handling and applicable legal obligations, and may also be present in server backups. Contact us to ask about data linked to your installation; there is no server archive of your learning history.
5. 1Polish purchases through the App Store
Apple processes 1Polish AI subscriptions and credit-pack payments; we never receive your payment details or your Apple Account. See Apple's Privacy Policy. StoreKit checks your subscription on the device. To grant AI credits, the app sends each App Store transaction (a purchase, a renewal or a credit pack) to our server as Apple's signed transaction; until the server confirms it, the app keeps a copy on the device so it can try again. The server verifies Apple's signature and keeps a one-way hash of the transaction id with your credit wallet, together with the product, plan and period dates, so the same purchase cannot be credited twice. The signed transaction itself is not stored on our server.
The app sends your current subscription again at every start, so the active subscription and its current period's credits follow the installation that uses it, for example a new iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. Purchased credit packs and welcome credits stay with the installation that received them. Purchases and wallets are not shared with 1Polish for Android. These records are linked to an installation's credit wallet; we do not use them for tracking or advertising.
6. 1Polish problem reports and support e-mails
Reporting a problem with a task or an AI answer opens your own mail app with a draft e-mail to [email protected]. For a task, the draft contains its id and type, an excerpt of the task, your answer and the expected answer; for an AI answer, the AI text you report. It also contains the app version and build and your learner language. You can edit it, and nothing is sent unless you send the e-mail yourself.
If you e-mail us, we receive your e-mail address, the message and anything you attach, and use them only to answer you and fix the problem. Do not send a password, card details or unnecessary sensitive data. We do not add you to marketing lists.
7. 1Polish permissions
- Microphone: used only when you choose to record a spoken answer or a conversation turn. You can refuse it or turn it off in iOS Settings; everything else keeps working.
- Notifications: used only for the optional daily study reminder. The reminder is scheduled locally on your device and does not send your progress anywhere. You can turn it off in the app or in iOS Settings.
- Internet: needed for AI features, the credit wallet and App Store purchases or restoration. Lessons, practice, exams and the built-in audio work offline.
1Polish does not access your contacts, photos, camera or location. It does not use the advertising identifier and does not ask for permission to track you, because it does not track you.
8. Data categories used by 1Polish
The processing described above includes audio data (recordings sent for transcription and assessment), other user content (text sent to the AI tutor and AI checks), purchase history (App Store transactions verified to grant AI credits) and a device ID (the random install identifier used by the credit wallet). We use them only for app functionality: the features you request, purchases and service security. They are not linked to your identity and are not used for advertising or tracking. The App Store privacy information summarizes these practices; this policy explains the full flow and retention.
9. 1Polish processing purposes and transfers
Where European data-protection law applies, we process the data needed to provide requested AI services and purchases to perform our agreement with you. Security, abuse prevention and responding to support requests rely on our legitimate interests in providing a reliable service, subject to your rights. We may retain records to comply with applicable legal duties.
AI, payment and infrastructure providers may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Their applicable terms and privacy notices describe processing locations and transfer safeguards. We do not claim that all processing stays on your device or within the EU.
10. Your choices and rights in 1Polish
You can learn without AI, avoid personal details in messages and recordings, revoke microphone or notification access in iOS Settings, turn off the study reminder and delete the app to remove its local data. Deleting the app is irreversible for your learning history and does not cancel a subscription; manage it in your Apple Account's subscription settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of personal data we hold, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also complain to your data-protection authority. Write to [email protected]. Because there is no account, we may need details such as a purchase date to find records linked to your installation, and we may be unable to link a request to particular technical records. We may need to retain some records for legal obligations or disputes and will explain any applicable limits. Data already processed by an AI provider is covered by that provider's own privacy notice and request process.
11. 1Polish policy changes and contact
If our practices change, we will update this page and its date; material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Questions? Write to [email protected].
