1Cleaner vs Files by Google

By Antosha, the developer of 1Cleaner · September 26, 2026 Files by Google listing and Data safety from its US Google Play page, checked October 2, 2026

Files by Google handles browsing, sharing and basic cleanup. 1Cleaner adds dedicated photo review and other cleaning tools. I develop 1Cleaner; this comparison uses Google’s public listing and Data safety declaration, linked in Sources.

Start with Files by Google if you need a file manager. It is free, ad-free and includes sharing, backup and playback. Consider 1Cleaner when you want more control over similar photos, video compression or contacts and calendar cleanup. Keeping both is also an option.

When a dedicated cleaner adds to Files by Google

Files by Google is the simpler choice for browsing folders, sharing files or moving them to Google Drive. 1Cleaner adds group-by-group photo review and tools outside file management. The feature table lists which capabilities appear on each app’s public listing.

In 1Cleaner 1.0.1g, folder comparisons need two comparable, complete and successful file scans; the first sets a baseline. Protected paths, Android/data and Android/obb are excluded, and the result is not a history of individual files. Settings can protect shared-storage paths from cleanup, but protection does not follow moves or renames or control Android cache cleanup. The new cache, storage-change and path-protection screens remain in English.
